How you can submit Samples to this soundboard:
- Get in her Discord (discord.gg/katie).
- Go to #audio-bits channel.
- Post either the link to a clip or the quote as .mp3 file in the channel.
- On posted clip, wait until someone makes a mp3 file from it.
- Wait until the soundboard gets updated (may take up to a few days).
How this Soundboard came together.
Early on it was a private thing because I was to lazy to download every mp3 file from the discord just to listen to them. So I coded a small version of it for my self. It had no styling, background etc. it was just a table with 4 audio files in them that played the Discord attachments over the HTML5 player.I added more and more Samples (at that time all hosted on discord) to it and posted the html file in the #audio-bits channel just for fun and didn't expect to get that amount of positive response.
But I did. So I added more and more Samples to it. Then Styling, a Background etc. and posted the html file in the channel again.
Then woem wanted a version where all Samples play at once so I toggle all Samples to autoplay and then later add the buttons on the top.
Recently the soundboard moved off Discord to a webhosted version ...
What do I use to make this soundboard:
First Notepad++, now Sumblime Text 3, NetBeans 8.2 and Google Chrome for debugging. I started this from scratch, no template no design software etc. all code of the pages is self written.
How to use the autoplay over URL
Since the the first of May you can specify one or multiple samples in the URL that start playing once the page is loaded.Simply just add "?p=" and the sample id (you can find the id of each sample by hovering over the context icon of the name of the sample).
For example: https://dork.katie.gg/?p=188 will play "the great asparagus story"
For multiple samples just seperate the ids with a "-" e.g. https://dork.katie.gg/?p=100-101
Note: if this feature gets abused it will be restricted!
